Moving your patients from Zanda to AbanteOS

Bring your Zanda (formerly Power Diary) clients and appointments across from Zanda's Data Export.

Last checked: 24 October 2026

You move your own patients, so you decide what comes across and when. Nothing is saved until you’ve checked every row, nothing is sent to your patients, and you can undo your latest import if something looks wrong.

What you can bring

1. Get your data out of Zanda

Export your clients and appointments

  1. Sign in to Zanda as a user with the Allow Data Export permission and access to all client profiles (otherwise you only get the clients assigned to you).
  2. Go to Tools, then Data Export.
  3. Choose All Data (this includes inactive clients and practitioners), tick Clients and Appointments, and click Export.
  4. Come back to the Data Export page later: it can take from a few minutes to a couple of hours. When it's ready, download the ZIP from the Download List at the bottom of the page and unzip it.
  5. Inside you'll find Clients.csv (your patients) and Client Appointments.csv (your appointments).

Zanda keeps the download for 72 hours, so import within three days or export again.

These steps are based on Zanda’s public help pages at the time of writing (last checked 24 October 2026). If something looks different, check their help centre or ask their support for the latest steps.

2. Import your patients

  1. Sign in to AbanteOS, open Patients and click Move clients over.
  2. On “Clients from a file”, choose Zanda in “From”, then click Choose file and pick your Clients.csv file (from the Data Export ZIP). Up to 2,000 patients at a time.
  3. Check the columns. We recognise Zanda’s columns and match them for you; change any that are wrong and leave the ones you don’t need on Skip.
  4. Check every row. Each one shows as Ready, Invalid (for example an email that isn’t valid) or Duplicate (the same email or Zanda client number twice, or someone who’s already your patient). Nothing is saved yet, and Download error report gives you the list with the reasons.
  5. Untick “Make invite links” if your patients won’t use the app yet, then click Import. Nothing is emailed to anyone.

3. Import your appointments

  1. Open the Appointments tab in Move clients over, choose Zanda and pick your Client Appointments.csv file (from the same ZIP) (up to 5,000 appointments at a time).
  2. Check the columns and the date order: day/month/year for UK and Australian accounts, month/day/year for US ones.
  3. Choose who each practitioner in the file is on your team, or “Don’t import”.
  4. Check every row: Ready, Can’t import (for example no patient with that Zanda client number or email), Duplicate (already imported) or Skipped (it clashes with another appointment for that practitioner). The summary shows how many are upcoming, past, cancelled and did not arrive.
  5. Click Import. Past appointments keep whether the patient arrived, did not arrive or cancelled; upcoming ones go into the diary as booked.

Good to know for Zanda:

Made a mistake? Undo your latest import from Past imports in Move clients over. Appointments you’ve changed since (moved, marked, invoiced or noted) are kept.

4. Invite your patients (optional)

If you want patients to use the app for exercises, booking or messages, copy the invite links shown after the patient import and send them yourself. Each link works for 14 days; you can make a new one from the patient’s record.

Tip: keep your Zanda account until you’ve checked your diary and records in AbanteOS, and stop online booking in Zanda so nobody books into the old diary.
